Steve Langford, (Sculptor)
Steve Langford was born in Worcester. As a child Steve was very creative. He Started work at the Royal Worcester Porcelain Company as an artist straight from school and went on to work in many aspects of the ceramics trade including ornamental and useful casting.
He has never been to Art College and is self taught. After many years he left to join Country artists as a sculptor. While there, he made all manner of things but mainly wildlife sculptures and became known for his miniature work. His work was sold all over the world including America. He also did a lot of work for mail order companies who sold the pieces through the Sunday supplements.
He created pieces for Royal Doulton, three pieces for the Sultan of Oman and one for the US Navy. He also created the popular hedgehog range called Hedgies which was designed for the High Street and was sold in stores such as Samuels etc and had its own collectors club.
After fifteen years he left Country Artists and set up on his own making resin bronze sculptures which are sold in Galleries around the country.
