Juliet Cursham, SEA (Sculptor)

Juliet Cursham was brought up in Leicestershire.

Juliet began her fascination for horses in The Quorn Hunt Pony Club and has hunted with the Quorn, Belvoir and Cottesmore, The Newmarket and Thurlow and Suffolk Hunts as well as many packs on the East Coast of America, including Mr. Stuart’s Cheshire Foxhounds, The Fairfax County, The Andrew’s Bridge, The Potomac, The Bull Run, and The Princess Ann Hounds. She worked with polo ponies, cattle and sheep in Australia and New Zealand, for a racehorse trainer Gavin Pritchard-Gordon and his wife Coral in Newmarket where she was cook and all round help and also rode out with the string every morning riding work on the hallowed grounds of Warren Hill.

She has played polo with the Rutland Polo Club and also visited with polo teams and played herself in the USA, Brunei, Cyprus, Morocco, Argentina, St Moritz, Florida and Nepal where she played polo on an elephant and has ridden a dressage test on a camel in Egypt.

She was made a full member of The Society of Equestrian Artists in 1990 and was awarded the British Sporting Art Trust Prize in 1993, 1995.
She started exhibiting again and has gone on to win the BSAT Prize in 2015, 2016 and 2017

All the trophies for the International Races held in Hong Kong every December along with a couple of one third life size bronzes for their Happy Valley Club House.
